An outstanding team (Ting Sin Hang, Yeung Chi Ling, Evelyn Julipalas, Chan Chung Ho and Cheung Kai Hung) from The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Department of Mechanical and Automation Engineering, won the Champion in the Third Greater China Design Competition (GCDC), held in Guang Zhou on 22-23, March 2014.
The competition was hosted by IMechE (HK) Branch, and the objective was to design and perform test of a material transporter that can deliver granular material up and down stairs and empty as much material as possible into a container within 10 minutes time limit. The team led by Dr. Li, Yiyang and the assessors Leung Yun Yee, Yip Chun Wa and Lau Ka Chun, has competed among nine contesting teams representing eight universities from Hong Kong, Macau and China.
