Biography:
Benjamin Chodroff is the Group Head of HSBC Lab as part of Emerging Technology, Innovations and Ventures team based in Shanghai, China. He leads research and development on applications in digital ledgers, real world asset tokenization, and Web 3.0 while overseeing activities in Generative AI and Quantum Computing. Ben holds multiple patents and publications in server virtualization, metaverse, cloud security, IoT, and the author of Ethereum EIP-4736 on Consensus Layer Withdrawal Protection. He previously has worked at IBM as a software developer, and a CTO at an IoT startup and a cryptocurrency exchange. He graduated from Case Western Reserve University with a BSE degree in Computer Engineer and minor in music. Ben has been building in the public digital asset ecosystem since adopting bitcoin in 2013, Ethereum in 2017, and helped co-found the OffChain meetup group and volunteers classes teaching blockchain basics and smart contract coding classes.
